VIA has confirmed its strategic analyst Kit Wilkerson will be staying with the organisation despite a planned shift.

Instead of moving to the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) to work on low emissions transport, he will continue his work with the import industry body.

Wilkerson is in Europe for VIA currently, and chief executive David Vinsen says he is delighted to have the analyst stay on board.

“We are very pleased Kit has chosen to stay here and continue his work,” says Vinsen.

“With VIA he can continue to make a real difference to the safety and environmental impact of the vehicle fleet.”

“There are some interesting topics and projects he can sink his teeth into coming up.”

Wilkerson has taken on tricky subjects in the past, not only for VIA but for the wider industry – including electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles and vehicle frequency issues.

An EECA spokesperson wished Wilkerson well.

“EECA confirms that Kit has decided not to take up the role for personal reasons and wish him all the best for the future.”
