Audi e-tron deliveries from mid-2019

Audi’s first fully electric series production model the Audi e-tron is due for delivery in New Zealand from mid-2019.

Following the e-tron’s global launch in September, New Zealand customers were able to reserve one of the 100 vehicle build slots with the full 2019 delivery allocation selling out in just eight days, Audi New Zealand general manager Dean Sheed says.

The level of interest in the Audi e-tron is “unprecedented”, he says.

“This, coupled with solid sales and consumer acceptance of both the existing plug-in A3 e-tron Sportback and the Q7 e-tron have proven we are on track with electric mobility, and our fully electric future.

“Our first fully electric car being an SUV with off-road capability could not be more suited to the New Zealand environment.”

The Audi e-tron has two electric motors for all-wheel drive with up to 300kW output and 664Nm of torque, capable of accelerating to 100km/h in 5.7 seconds and reaching a governed 200km/h top speed.

Sheed says previous EV issues with range and power are “clearly laid to rest” in the e-tron with its WLTP range of more than 400km and full recharging of the 95kWh battery in as little as 40 minutes.

It can fast charge at up to 150kW or use AC charging at up to 11kW, with recharging at 22kW also an option.

Combined with a home energy management system, intelligent functions allow charging when electricity is less expensive and through a home solar system.

Audi owners can control all charging processes and pre-heating and pre-cooling via the myAudi app.
