Electric Lightpath Festival planned
Electric bikes feature in Auckland’s Lightpath Festival on December 1.
The free event organised by Bike Auckland celebrates the pink path Te Ara i Whiti’s third birthday and includes e-bikes from the Electric Bike Team and Big Street Bikers.
Entertainers, music, art, food, and bike fun are included along the Light Path and Canada Street, off Karangahape Road from 5pm to 9pm.

Bike safety checks and test rides are available.
An e-bike mass ride, the eZee Sprint Rally, will start from the Waterview Reserve in Herdman Street, Waterview, at 3pm, travelling to the Lightpath Festival via the north-western cycleway.
More than 30 riders are expected.
It’s organised by the Electric Bike Team which is selling its demonstration and courtesy Sprint bike fleet and providing tests of its new Sprint Alfine T4.
The nearby Mercury Plaza hosts an open-air food court and a pop-up beer garden includes Auckland’s new Bike Brew beer.
Auckland Transport Cycling, the NZ Transport Agency, the Auckland Council and Barfoot & Thompson are among those supporting the festival.
