The Joint Initiative for hydrogen Vehicles across Europe (JIVE) aims for 139 fuel cell buses and refuelling infrastructure in five countries.

It eventually plans for about 300 fuel cell buses in 22 European cities by the early 2020s.

The Streetdeck FCEV can carry 64 passengers and has a 48kW battery pack providing 322km range with a range extension option to 426km.

It has a Ballard fuel cell and Siemens drivetrain, with the hydrogen storage tanks weighing only 20kg.

Wrightbus also offers to produce buses with plug-in electric and induction power transfer among its options.
