Electric utes could be coming to the market as part of deal between Amazon, General Motors and Rivian Automotive, according to Reuters.

The investment could value the American pickup manufacturer, founded in 2009, at between $1 billion to $2 billion, reports say.

The deal would give Amazon and GM minority stakes in Rivian – a Michigan-based start-up, in competition with Tesla, which aims to be the first carmaker in the U.S. market with an electric ute.

GM says it supports Rivian’s commitment to zero emissions. Amazon and Rivian have not commented, Reuters says.
