Volkswagen EV Multivan 6.1 version coming

Volkswagen is offering an electric version of its upgraded, digitalised and connected Multivan 6.1 van later this year.
It will be offered in partnership with ABT and is expected to have 82kW output with 38.8kWh or 77.6kWh battery options, the latter providing an estimated 400km range.
The Multivan 6.1 is designed for commercial operators.
An array of assistance systems, digital instruments for the first time and the latest generation of Volkswagen infotainment systems with an integrated SIM card which enables continual online access will be included.
“The new T6.1 is the car for the here and now. We have taken a proven vehicle and updated its assistance and infotainment systems and connectivity to the state-of-the-art today,” Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles management board chairman Dr Thomas Sedran says.
Volkswagen is expected to offer a production version of the Volkswagen ID Buzz and Buzz Cargo, developed from the ground-up as EVs.
The company will also reveal its ID Buggy at the Geneva International Motor Show on March 7-17.
