Trackless trams talk in Wellington with Peter Newman

In last month’s issue of EVtalk, social planner Marie Verschuer talks about trackless trams as the future of mass transportation.

Professor of sustainability Peter Newman will continue the trackless trams discussion as an emerging new mass transit mode of transport, currently being trialled in China and Europe.

Trackless trams can potentially carry hundreds of passengers quickly, safely and comfortably within urban environments.

Newman will be speaking about this new transport technology, which has attracted both support and scepticism.

This year, trackless trams have generated a lot of interest. Greenpeace International posted a video on its Facebook page on trackless trams being a future mode of transportation and it has reached 3.5 billion hits.

Newman will be speaking in Wellington at Rutherford House, Victoria University on June 25 from 6-8pm. He was 2018 Scientist of the Year for Western Australia.
