Charged with theft of 50 Lime e-scooters
A Christchurch man has been charged with the theft of 50 Lime electric scooters worth a total $37,500.
The 37-year-old has interim name suppression granted in the Christchurch District Court on July 30 and is due to appear on the charges carrying a maximum penalty of a year’s jail on August 15.

The alleged offences were between January 19 and May 29, 2019, the NZ Herald reports.
Lime introduced its e-scooters to Christchurch for public hire in October 2018 and is allowed to operate 1000 in the city.
