Lexus EV for Tokyo show

Lexus will reveal a small EV at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show, October 24 to November 5.
The unnamed concept is a boxy urban hatchback with inspiration likely from the brand’s LF-SA 2015 concept.
“We feel that our future could resemble this design,” Lexus vice-president Koji Sato told Autocar.
A screen either side of the steering wheel will display infotainment, although details about the first Lexus EV are undisclosed.
Lexus plans to offer an electrified variant of every vehicle it sells by 2025.
An EV platform could be shared with Lexus’s parent company Toyota which jointly intend launching 10 electric models by 2025.
Meanwhile, work on the Lexus production EV design is being led by the brand’s design chief Koichi Suga who tells Autocar the Lexus spindle grille is likely to be incorporated.
The Tokyo show has an ‘open future’ theme and is expected to involve more than 186 companies and organisations from seven countries.
