EV advocates among award finalists

Several key EV advocates are among finalists in the 2019 NZI Sustainable Business Network Awards in the Smarter Transport category.
Blue Cars, Mevo, Yoogo Share, Tourism Holdings, Meridian Energy, Orix New Zealand and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare are included in the NZ Transport Agency sponsored award.
Cityhop founder Victoria Carter is up for a Sustainability Superstar Award, Foodstuffs NZ sustainability manager Mike Sammons also among the 10 finalists in that field.
The record number of entries are a sign of growing business confidence in sustainability, Sustainable Business Network (SBN) chief executive officer Rachel Brown says.
“This year we’ve seen growth in innovation and in new business models.
NZI executive general manager Garry Taylor says most people accept the business models of old cannot continue.
Other award categories include Communicating for Change, Hardwired for Social Good, Partnering for Good, Going Circular, Efficiency Champion, Revolutionising Energy, Transforming Food, Restoring Nature, Millennial on Mission and the supreme award NZI Transforming New Zealand.
Award winners will be announced on November 28 at Shed 10 on Auckland’s waterfront.
