Former Formula one champ will drive Model S for Nürburgring run

Nico Rosberg
Former Formula one world champion Nico Rosberg has volunteered to drive the Model S’s Nürburgring run.
Rosberg offered his skills over Twitter, asking Musk if he needed a “decent driver” for the Model S’s run. Musk responded “thanks for offering! Sure, that would be great.”
After retiring in 2016 after his Formula one world championship win, Rosberg has been an advocate for sustainable transportation. He co-founded the Greentech Festival which shows off environmentally friendly technologies and is a fan of Tesla’s Model 3 Performance.

Rosberg said to Musk to let him know when his duties would be needed.
“Tesla is excited to be a part of the Industry Pool testing community next week at the Nürburgring. Our participation is confirmed and contracted by the Nürburgring,” a Tesla spokesperson said, after reports came out saying Tesla had not reserved a slot.
