Mercedes‑Benz delivers eCitaro buses

Mercedes‑Benz is delivering its all-electric eCitaro bus to German transport company ASEAG as part of a major order.

The first seven eCitaro vehicles have been handed over to ASEAG for use in the city of Aachen with another 20 to follow.

Mercedes-Benz Buses Germany head of sales Rüdiger Kappel says the team is pleased to be helping companies put zero emission vehicles in their fleets.

“We’re proud to continue a long-standing and trusting partnership with ASEAG and to accompany them on their way to electromobility.

“ASAEG will continue to expand its electromobility step by step and will be choosing Mercedes‑Benz for all-electric vehicles,” Kappel says.

The two-door eCitaro models feature top-of-the-range equipment with twelve high-voltage battery packs.

They provide a total capacity of 292 kWh. The buses are equipped with preventive brake assist active braking and sideguard assist.

In the passenger area, seats and are provided with information via a 29-inch screen.

ASEAG operates with 101 bus routes and transports around 71 million passengers annually.

The Mercedes-Benz Citaro is the major vehicle of the company’s fleet of 230 buses.
