EV buyers get green Christmas gift
If you bought an EV from Auckland City Electric Vehicles (ACEV) recently then you’ll more than likely get a plant gift for Christmas.
About 60 plants – mainly peace lilies, appropriately – have been distributed along with Christmas card wishes and an “electrifying New Year” message from the ACEV team.
ACEV general manager Hadley Hargadon reckons the plants are better than giving a bottle of wine because “not everyone drinks and most have gardens or a place for a plant”.
Plants have the added advantage of providing oxygen and absorbing carbon.

“All our customers want to be eco-friendly,” Hargadon adds.
He aims to continue the novel gift idea for customers into next year as well, working with Kings Plant Barn.
Native plants were also presented to speakers and panelists at the Electrifying Conversations Conference in Auckland in November.
