Tesla could do 640km plus range

Tesla is reportedly working on a 110kWh battery pack which could provide more than 640km range.
Chief executive Elon Musk indicated in January that a 640km range car could some soon.
Electrek reports it has learned Tesla is preparing a hardware upgrade possibly leading to greater range for its Model S and other vehicles.
Tesla hacker and parts reseller Jason Hughes dug into Tesla’s latest battery management system updates and found the automaker has been working on a new battery pack configuration, Electrek says.
Hughes says Tesla is working a new battery pack configuration with groups of 108 cells for a 450-volt pack with around 109kWh of usable energy capacity, it adds.
That would allow a Model S to reach 640km range, but Hughes says the new architecture points toward new packs available across Tesla’s entire line-up, according to Electrek.
An update announced earlier in February gives the new Tesla Model S 627km range – up from 600km, and also gives the new Model X 564km range – up from 527km.
