EVs in top three World Car categories

EVs account for four category top three finalist placings in the World Car Awards to be announced at the New York International Auto Show in April.
Indeed, the Porsche Taycan is included in three category finalist listings – the World Luxury Car (alongside the Mercedes-Benz EQC), World Performance Car and the World Car Design of the Year.
Other EVs to feature are the Kia Soul EV and Mini Electric, both in the World Urban Car top three.
Finalists for the World Car of the Year are the Kia Telluride, Mazda CX-30 and Mazda3 – the latter in the World Car Design of the Year sector alongside the Peugot 208, while the Porsche brand dominates many of the other categories.
The Volkswagen T-Cross is a finalist for the World Urban Car.
The awards ceremony and press conference will open the New York International Auto Show on April 8.
The Global Trends Report will also be presented at the show, which is open to the public from April 10-19.
The World Car Garage will be staged at The British Motor Show in August, celebrating the 2020 winners and offering a glimpse of the 2021 contenders.
