Tesla China sales hit record

Tesla’s sales in China gained a record high in March despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and it represented 25% of the country’s EV sales during that time.

The China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) says Tesla delivered 10,160 vehicles there in March, its best results in a single month.

Tesla managed that when overall passenger car sales in China were down more than 40%, Electrek reports.

The CPCA believes the auto market will resume growth in April as China recovers from the pandemic.

Tesla’s Gigafactory Shanghai is now reportedly capable of producing 3000 Model 3 vehicles weekly, for instance.

It delivered 3563 and 3900 cars in January and February respectively in China,

Tesla delivered more than 88,000 cars in Q1 2020 – its “best first quarter ever” – increasing its home delivery service and making everything as contactless as possible, including test drives.
