Video: AutoTalk Talks webinar series starts well

The first AutoTalk Talks educational webinar has proved successful with more than 150 people online for the first session.

The ‘Nurturing leads in a post-COVID world’ webinar hosted by Matt Darby, Jackie Hingston and Mike Pratt of AutoPlay explored how to maintain contacts and relationships during the lockdown and coming level three restrictions.

Hingston says digital communication doesn’t have to be sales focussed but could be more about maintaining relationships, particularly as dealers find some customers may be experiencing financial difficulty.

Being proactive in hygiene, contact tracing and seeking leads was also discussed.

Pratt believes new vehicle enquiries will be the second-most dominant currency next to the New Zealand dollar, hence the need for a “superfast” response to leads.

The second webinar on Thursday, April 23 at 2pm will be hosted by well-known sales trainer Graham Taylor-Edwards, who will provide simple tips on dealing with staff working remotely.

These are streamed live on the popular Zoom Webinar system, which is free to users.

Recordings will be available later on the AutoTalk.co.nz website.

With level three restrictions requiring sales to be largely contactless, the way dealers do business in New Zealand is set to change dramatically across all sectors – sales, logistics, finance and insurance and service, group managing editor Richard Edwards says.

“This is a new world, and dealers are going to need to rapidly rethink how they do things, and retrain their teams accordingly – in a hurry and remotely.”
