BMW uses embedded tech to push COVID message

BMW New Zealand has used advanced technology embedded in its vehicles to encourage about 8000 BMW and Mini customers to follow Government advice to stay at home to keep safe and help contain the spread of COVID-19.
BMW delivered the message through vehicles’ centre-mounted display screens using the ConnectedDrive system which combines digital features that give drivers access to a suite of constantly updated services and apps.
The message read: “BMW Group encourages you to follow the Government’s advice. Please stay at home for your safety.”
“New Zealand is doing a remarkable job of flattening the curve of COVID-19 infection,” says BMW NZ managing director, Karol Abrasowicz-Madej. “We must continue to work together and follow the Government’s advice as the virus continues to be detrimental to people and businesses across the nation and the world.
“The New Zealand Government has put commendable measures in place in an effort to contain and control the infection and BMW Group moved quickly to support those efforts and help amplify the ‘stay home, stay safe’ message to our valued customers.”
