Doors open but numbers will be monitored

Hyundai dealers will limit the number of people – including staff – in their buildings when they open their doors to the public this Thursday.

Under COVID-19 Level 2, customers can enter a dealership, and Hyundai says its dealers will maintain social distancing of up to two metres and monitor the number of people allowed onsite at any one time.

Measures introduced during Level 3, like maintaining strict cleaning and sanitisation standards of all dealership and vehicle touch-points to protect both staff and customers will continue.

Dealers will keep logs of cleaning, and will use personal protective equipment (PPE).

They’ll keep records of people entering the dealership to comply with Government contact tracing requirements.

Hyundai will also offer contactless services like online virtual product tours, contactless servicing and test drive options.

“We appreciate that Kiwis have had to adapt their way of living over the last seven weeks as a result of coronavirus,” says Hyundai New Zealand boss Andy Sinclair. “Some people may be eager to return to an in-store experience, whilst others are happy to continue to ‘shop’ from the comfort of their own home.”

Hyundai is also offering a six-month payment break for new customers whose employment circumstances change because of COVID-19.

It’s available for all new customers who buy their new vehicle from a Hyundai dealer and finance it through Hyundai Finance. Hyundai NZ will also cover interest payments during that time.
