Tesla to resume California production

Gavin Newsom
Tesla may restart full EV production at its Fremont factory next week after Tesla chief executive Elon Musk announced production would resume this week.
Musk has threatened to proceed with production despite Alameda County rules around the COVID-19 pandemic.
This follows his objections to the state’s restrictions, Tesla also filing a federal lawsuit against the county, and Musk suggesting he might move Tesla’s headquarters elsewhere, possibly along with EV manufacturing.
Alameda County representatives are reportedly negotiating with Tesla to reopen the Fremont factory more fully, saying they’ve moved closer to an agreed safety plan.
California governor Gavin Newsom expects the result will see the county allow Tesla to reopen fully by as early as next week.
