Which is quicker, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S or the Tesla Model S?

Drag races on airfields and roads put them fairly even.

The Taycan outgunned a Model S in an October 2019 quarter mile (0.4km) drag race on an airfield by 1.6 seconds.

In April this year, the Taycan won by just 0.4 seconds against a Model S Long Range over 170 metres (0.17km) on an airfield strip.

pitted the Model S Performance (Raven) with Cheetah Launch against the Taycan Turbo S in May on a suitable road (tracks were closed due to COVID-19) and the results were close.

It seemed whichever got the jump at the start just managed to outgun the other. The Taycan’s top speed power proved slightly better but the Tesla zapped the Taycan from a rolling start.

Meanwhile, a Tesla Model 3 has beaten the Taycan Turbo across the finish line in a recently held 500km EV race ‘Ignitis ON: get to know Lithuania!’ in Druskininkai, Lithuania.

The Porsche Taycan Turbo crossed the line in five hours 47 minutes and 14 seconds, but the Model 3 did it in five hours 46 minutes and seven seconds, Teslarati reports.

For both it was their debut in the race.

The Paliūtis Racing team stopped once in the Model 3 for 29 minutes to charge up.
