Nissan has released a teaser photograph of its future all-electric crossover vehicle which is derived from the Ariya concept car shown at the 2019 Tokyo Motor show.

The company has also hinted at a production date of July 2020.

In a press release discussing five Nissan concept vehicles from the last decade which have since morphed into series production vehicles – Nissan alludes to “a peek at the next EV crossover on the horizon.”

One subheading further down in the press release says: “Nissan Ariya Concept: 2019 Tokyo Motor Show” while another directly below it says: “Nissan Ariya production: July 2020.”

While the actual production date is yet to be confirmed by Nissan, it is more than likely the new EV Crossover will have the latest ProPilot driver assistance feature.

In the press release Nissan says the Ariya Concept answered the call with its rethinking of the crossover segment from the ground up, including striking design features, interior amenities and space and sports-car-like performance.

“Even a conventional element like the traditional front grille has evolved into a stunning “shield” to protect important technology used for the latest in ProPILOT driver assistance,” Nissan says.
