Tesla owners struggled to connect with their cars using their mobile app during a reported Tesla network outage.

A complete network outage with internal systems down and customer connectivity features inaccessible has been reported by Electrek, which says Tesla staff were even unable to process orders and deliveries.

It added that Tesla Powerwall and solar owners also couldn’t monitor their systems.

Tesla’s network issue appears to be global with owners around the world reporting the same problems, Electrek says.

Owners can still access and use their cars though, with Bluetooth connectivity allowing them to unlock and start their Tesla.

Some connectivity has since been restored, although the Tesla website has some issues too.

The reason for the network failure is as yet unknown.

But Tech Crunch

says the problems happened for about an hour Wednesday morning (US time), caused by an internal break of Tesla’s application programming interface (or API), according to sources familiar with the outage.
