Micromobility World digital event in January

An inaugural global virtual conference reflecting unprecedented disruptions that have swept tech, cities, and mobility in the last year will be held on January 27-29.

The current crisis has reshaped how people navigate their communities on a global scale and micromobility has emerged as the safest, most sustainable way to get everyone moving again – all covered in Micromobility World.

However, challenges remain, The Micromobility Newsletter says.

“Our transportation systems must be rebuilt to prioritise order over mayhem, climate over pollution, small over large, and people over machines.

“As a surge of urban residents turn to lightweight electric vehicles to break free from lockdown, the social, cultural, and economic future of our cities now depends on micromobility.”

The digital conference is expected to involve more than 2000 participants, about 50 speakers and expert, and at least 25 panels keynotes and VIP workshops.

The three-day conference includes a study of the e-bike era (likely to hit US$46 billion by 2026), analysts Benedict Evans and Horace Dediu exploring technology as a force for change and the disruptive potential of micromobility, what micromobility is missing, emerging opportunities in the supply, distribution, and maintenance of micromobility, the e-scooter revolution, the “15-minute city”, taking space away from cars in city landscapes, micromobility’s public benefits and the regulations involved, lessons from Uber, and future innovations – to name a few.
