Giltrap-SIXT subscription service includes EVs

EVs are part of the Giltrap Group’s partnership with European rental giant SIXT to launch a new vehicle subscription service into the New Zealand market.

EV leadership is important to the new venture, with SIXT’s rental fleet aiming to beat all carbon neutral objectives, with 25% of its fleet being EVs by 2025.

Pricing for EVs starts from $79 daily, $499 weekly or $1695 monthly on a 12-month subscription.

A second-generation Nissan Leaf, for instance, is available for $1695 a month.

Operating under the SIXT brand, the group claims it is the first “true mobility service of its kind bringing Kiwis a fresh alternative to car ownership with a new car subscription offering and an ultra-modern level of car rental”.

“We believe that this new mobility service will have a heavy hand in shaping the future of the transport industry in New Zealand and SIXT’s no fuss flexible approach will drive the appeal to Kiwis. “We’re thrilled to be bringing this ‘new mobility’ offering to New Zealand.”

Together with classic short-term and long-term rental, SIXT’s subscription gives Kiwis access to flexible car usage options of six, nine or 12 months with a guaranteed brand-new vehicle that best suits their individual mobility needs.

All offerings include insurance, registration, maintenance and depreciation.

The subscription is available with one month’s initial advanced payment at sixt.nz and with pick-up from the company’s ‘Auckland Mobility Centre’ (120 Great North Road).

The subscription will soon be available around the rest of the country from January 2021 and will also encompass a home delivery service.

SIXT’s car rental, which it claims is the largest premium and luxury rental fleet in the market, is now available in Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington and Queenstown.
