Pre-orders open for new Renault Zoe

The new electric Renault Zoe is due in New Zealand from mid-2021 with pre-orders being taken now for a $500 deposit on the $65,990 (recommended retail price) EV.

Europe’s number one selling EV in 2020, the new Zoe has up to 395km range, a more efficient 100kW engine and a high level of equipment and loading versatility as standard.

“The improvements made to the Zoe across the board make the new generation Zoe a popular small electric car choice,” Renault New Zealand general manager Sam Waller says.

“With the ability to travel up to 395 kilometres and DC charging capability, range anxiety is a thing of the past.”

The new 52kWh battery extends the Zoe’s range about 25% more and rapid DC charging up to 50kW provides compatibility with New Zealand’s DC public charging network ensuring the new Zoe recovers a maximum 150km range in 30 minutes.

Driving pleasure and comfort are enhanced, especially on the motorway, with acceleration from 80 to 120km/h 2.2 seconds faster than the previous generation.

The new Zoe also offers a new driving mode that simplifies city traffic called “B mode”, with intensified decelerations allowing reduced use of the brake pedal.

A redesigned dashboard, refined finishings, new technology, more storage and an option of recycled materials redefine the Zoe’s interior.

Leather seats are heated in the front while the driver also enjoys a heated steering wheel.

An Easy Park Assist system uses radar sensors to guide the vehicle into tricky parking spots, while several advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) are also included.

The new Zoe has a 10-inch driver’s display and a central 9.3-inch touch screen that is paired with a premium Bose audio system.

This range of equipment is complemented by the electronic “e-shifter” gear lever, an automatic parking brake with Auto-Hold function and LED lighting that increases visibility by 75%.

Customers also have an expanded colour range – Titanium Grey, Glacier White, Celedon Blue, Star Black, Quartz Blanc White, Blueberry, Flamme Red and Highland Grey.

A demonstrator Zoe is currently touring all 14 of the Renault dealerships for customers keen on a first look or to take a test drive.
