With the rebate on EVs starting July 1, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) has updated its “Feebate Factsheets”.
These include the Clean Car Discount factsheet and a guide for vehicle dealerships, the Imported Motor Vehicle Industry Association (VIA) reports.
Legislation still has to be introduced into Parliament to empower the NZTA to take fees from CO2 emitters from January 1, 2022, VIA adds.

“The ‘Clean Car Standard’, which is different from the feebate scheme, is scheduled to start in the third or fourth quarter (reporting only) in 2022 with full implementation by January 2023,” it explains.
