New NIU e-scooter launched in UK

NIU has launched its new KQi3 electric kick scooter in the United Kingdom as the company’s first product in the booming micromobility sector.

The commuter scooter has about 30km range and a 25km/h top-speed, can be fully charged in five hours and is foldable for easy storage and train travel.

The KQi3 is available from Indiegogo for 339 pounds early bird offer (MSRP from 599 pounds).

NIU is confident the new model addresses issues in relation to riding stability, comfort and safety.

Extra wide handlebars (54cm) offer greater rider control and comfort, mainly through natural hand placement.

A wider deck (17cm) helps too, particularly when cornering, along with five-inch by 2.5-inch wide pneumatic tyres, a 48v lithium battery under the deck for a lower centre of gravity, and a 350W motor with rear wheel drive

Regenerative braking with dual drive disc brakes returns power to the battery and can add up to 4% more battery charge.

A ‘halo’ front light is bright and enables the rider to see and the KQi3 to be seen by others, and in combination with the rear brake light aids safety.

More 1.8 million NIU scooters have been sold across 48 countries since the company’s formation in 2014.
