BMW complimentary Wallbox for iX3, iX and i4 EVs

A complimentary BMW Wallbox charging unit is offered to customers of new BMW electric models – the BMW iX3, iX and i4, while $800 is contributed towards installation when customers finance their BMW i vehicle through BMW Financial Services.

BMW New Zealand has announced it the offer prior to the launch of the BMW iX3 and iX this year and the i4 set for Q1, 2022.

In addition, customers who finance their new BMW iX3, iX or i4 with BMW Financial Services can benefit from a $800 contribution towards installation at their place of choosing via an approved electrician facilitated by BMW New Zealand dealers.

The BMW Wallbox, which can be used indoors or outdoors, provides a charging rate of up to 22kW.

It also synchronises with a downloadable app for monitoring its charge state, adjusting the settings of the LED status bar and tracking previous charging sessions.

The iX3 features fifth-generation BMW Group eDrive technology, generates 210kW and 400Nm while avoiding use of rare earths in the electric motor. Its 80kWh battery enables up to 460km range (WLTP) and can be charged from 10% to 80% in 32 minutes on a high-speed DC charger.

In addition to the BMW Wallbox offer, iX3 owners can benefit from a ChargeNow membership with a 10% discount on all public charging rates for the first 24 months. ChargeNow, a service from BMW, operated by ChargeNet, enables customers to access New Zealand’s largest network of public fast charging stations nationwide with a ChargeNow key ring with integrated charging chip.

The BMW iX will be offered in two variants – the BMW iX xDrive 40, and ix xDrive50 – with up to 630km range (WLTP), it owners also benefiting from a ChargeNow membership.

The BMW i4 arrives in New Zealand early next year in two variants, the i4 eDrive40 and M50 – the latter the first BMW M model with an emissions-free drive system. It is fitted with dual motors that produce 400kW and 795Nm and can achieve the standard sprint time in 3.9-seconds while offering 510km range. All BMW i4 owners will also receive a membership to the ChargeNow network.
