Range Rover PHEV gets more range
The new Range Rover family is open for orders overseas with the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) performance providing 113km electric range (WLTP), allowing customers to make 75% of their journeys with zero emissions.
The P510e and P440e Extended-Range PHEVs offer exceptional efficiency, providing CO2 emissions as low as 18g/km, says Land Rover in confirming prices.
“Our efficient new Extended-Range Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle powertrains elevate the driving experience with a fine balance of performance, refinement and efficiency, enabling owners to complete whisper quiet zero emissions journeys of up to 113 kilometres,” Jaguar Land Rover vehicle programmes executive director Nick Collins says.
The PHEV improvements translate to an 88km real-world electric range – exceeding initial estimates, Land Rover explains.
It offers 50kW DC rapid charging capability and can charge up to 80% in under an hour.
A 38kWh lithium-ion battery, 105kW electric motor and 3.0-litre six-cylinder Ingenium engine powers the luxury SUV from 0-100km/h in 5.6 seconds.
A pure-electric Range Rover will join the line-up in 2024.
Every Land Rover is set to be available with pure-electric propulsion by the end of the decade – helping Jaguar Land Rover achieve net zero carbon across its products, operations and supply chain by 2039 as part of its Reimagine strategy.
The new Range Rover P440e is available in Australia from A$229,200 (plus on road costs) with Archibald and Shorter in New Zealand yet to reveal pricing.
