DeLorean EV reveal August

The DeLorean Motor Company (DMC) is going ‘Back to the Future’ in announcing its EV concept will be unveiled on August 18 at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Awards Ramp in California.
Releasing a teaser image of the EV, DMC says the car will be named then and is also displayed on the Concept Lawn at Pebble Beach on August 21.
DMC is the 1980s automotive manufacturer behind the DMC DeLorean sports car in the Back to the Future films, now making a comeback with its EV.
It was founded in 1975 by John DeLorean and the DMC DeLorean came with stainless steel panels and gull wing doors, Electrek reports.
The brand became part of 1980s pop culture due to three appearances as a customised DeLorean time machine in the film trilogy.
Earlier this year, a new DMC website emerged, touting a silhouette of the gull wing doors… but little else.
With a redesigned logo and a new slogan “The future was never promised”, DeLorean has seemingly re-emerged to be reborn as an EV brand, says Electrek.
DMC chief executive Joost de Vries, who formerly worked at Karma Automotive, says more details will be revealed about the EV concept closer to the time.
The past, present, and future of DeLorean will unfold over the duration of Monterey Car Week, August 12-21, through a series of activations and events showcasing the vehicle, says DMC.
