Delorean Alpha5 EV revealed
The DeLorean Motor Company (DMC) has provided an early look at its new EV the Alpha5 ahead of a first public showing at the Monterey Car Week in August.
DMC’s website subscribers can see the vehicle with its distinctive gull-wing doors just before the site goes public globally, the EV expected to have about 482km range from its more than 100kWh battery and a nearly 250km/h electronically limited top speed.

Taking design cues from the past to inspire the future, the new EV visibly showcases its iconic DNA. “The Alpha5 is a representation of the past 40 years of DeLorean,” says DMC chief marketing officer Troy Beetz.

A generational page on the website indicates there is an untold story uncovered from DeLorean’s archives. Previously unseen logos and rare imagery leading to the Alpha5 indicate there is much more to be revealed from the company.
Reports suggest 88 of the four-seater EV will initially be made for the racetrack with a production EV likely in 2024, the EV expected to be followed by an electric sedan and a hydrogen-powered SUV.
