Auckland’s Polestar Space now open

The Swedish electric brand Polestar has opened the doors of its first dealership in Auckland.

Located at 58 Great South Road in Newmarket, Auckland, Polestar says the Space has been described as an art gallery where the cars are the exhibits.

The brand says the Polestar Space is designed to make buying a vehicle as hassle-free as owning it.

It says the Polestar Spaces are bespoke retail environments with a singular purity of purpose. Minimalistic interiors elevate the deliberately chosen materials while promoting a calm and thoughtful atmosphere, by removing typical distractions so customers can focus on what matters according to the brand.

“The move to a permanent home couldn’t come at a better time for Polestar, as we are experiencing extremely high demand for Polestar 2. We cannot thank Aotearoa enough for giving this brand such a warm welcome,” Polestar New Zealand brand manager Bruce Fowler says.

“We were confident that Polestar 2 would be favourably received. Still, the level of interest and number of people who wanted to drive and own this car is beyond our expectations.

“Our team has doubled in size since launch, and we continue to work hard to meet demands for test drives and enquiries. I would like to thank the enthusiastic consumers for their patience and invite them to visit the new Polestar Space.

“New Zealand has secured a good supply of Polestar 2. We continue to work to overcome the remaining domestic COVID-19 related logistic issues and in spite of these, we have already surpassed our initial sales target for 2022,” Fowler says.

In April, Polestar 2 was New Zealand’s top-selling pure electric vehicle. The release of the updated Polestar 2 in May is expected to add to the incredible demand, with the option of two new paint colours (Space and Jupiter), two new alloy wheel designs, new interior materials, and improved sustainability credentials.

Pricing for the Polestar 2 remains unchanged, with both the Standard range Single motor and Long range Single motor versions still eligible for the full $8625 Clean Car Rebate.

All Polestar 2 variants retain the same high quality, premium components and solid driving experience that sets the all-electric fastback apart. In addition, elements like standard vegan upholstery, Android Automotive OS-powered infotainment system with Google built-in, and avant-garde interior and exterior design remain hallmarks of Polestar 2.

Constant development also means that improvements and new features can be deployed via Over-the-Air (OTA) updates without visiting a workshop.
