Geely Group has posted teaser photos on Twitter of its first electric dual cab ute, the model named “Radar” expected to be sold later this year under the Geely name.

The “2023 Geely Radar” made in China may even beat other brands in providing a production mid-size electric ute to New Zealand and Australia.

AutoTalk indicated late last year an electric ute was coming from Geely.

Little detail about the electric ute has yet been revealed, but media reports suggest it may have a similar Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) electric platform as the Polestar 2 and Volvo XC40 Recharge electric and could provide more than 350kW of power and 680Nm torque along with at least 700km range (NEDC).

The EV ute is likely to be produced with a range of variants, including single, dual and tri motor drivetrains – probably with four-wheel drive.

Speculation includes the Geely Radar is likely to be targeted for the lifestyler, as illustrated by bicycles being included in some teaser photos.

It may include vehicle-to-load (V2L) through a tray port and other extras.

More details are expected closer to the e-ute’s launch, widely tipped to be later this month.
