Z EV charging minimum balance drops
NZ EV Owners Facebook group feedback has helped reduce the minimum balance needed on the Z EV Charging app to start a charge to $1.
“Thanks to the feedback from this group, we are happy to let you know that the minimum balance required to start a charge in the Z EV Charging App has been dropped from $10 to $1,” says ‘RK’ on behalf of Z Energy.
The notice says the change is already in effect and that Z Energy is still working on removing the need for any pre-payment (“as we know this is a huge frustration”) and this is on track to be resolved early next year.
“We quickly realised the $10 minimum balance on our app that was required to charge was a pain point for our customers after they shared this feedback on a public Facebook group,” says Z Energy.
“While we wanted to remove it completely, there were technical challenges to do so that would delay action, so adjusting the minimum balance amount to $1 was our best solution to resolve this as quickly as possible.
“Z acknowledges as we progress our EV charging rollout that we will continue to improve the customer experience along the way and listen to their feedback to provide a more seamless experience every time.
“We plan to remove the need to have a balance amount in early 2023 by adding a pay-as-you-go feature.”
The move has brought messages such as “thanks for listening” from more than 20 group members.
