First e-Atak electric bus delivery to Italy

Karsan has delivered 11 of the 18 e-Atak bus orders it had received from Catania of Sicily.

All delivered buses have started service, the other seven to be delivered by the middle of this year.

They are Catania’s first electric buses, says Karsan chief executive Okan Baş.

“In 2023, Karsan electric buses will serve all over Italy from the southernmost part of the country to the northernmost one.”

Emphasising that Italy is one of the most important target markets for Karsan, Baş adds: “In this context, we are taking steps to further strengthen our presence as of 2023 with our Italy-based Karsan Europe S.R. company.

“With Karsan e-Atak, we are the leader of the electric midi-bus segment in Europe.

“We anticipate that our e-Atak model will be the leader of the electric midi-bus segment in Italy in 2023,” says Baş.

“We can meet the needs of public transportation in all dimensions with our electric buses from six metres to 18 metres.”
