Karsan celebrates delivering 250 electric buses to Italy

Turkish commercial electric vehicle manufacturer Karsan delivered 12 e-JEST minibuses to the Municipality of Florence on January 8, 2025.

Florence mayor Sara Funaro and council members officially received the electric vehicles in the city’s Michaelangelo Square.

The 12 e-JEST buses will operate in the historic centre of Florence within the city’s ancient Roman walls.

Okan Bas, Karsan’s chief executive, says the brand has marketed the e-JEST, e-ATAK, and E-ATA electric buses in Italy since 2018.

Karsan has delivered more than 250 electric buses to 27 cities in Italy from the north to the south.

During the tender performance tests in Florence, Bas says the e-JEST was highly appreciated and received full marks for its ability to drive up steep hills and manoeuvre silently in narrow streets.
