More Tesla price cuts
Tesla has reduced its New Zealand prices for the third time in four months.
Big price drops put the Tesla Model 3 rear-wheel drive RWD) from about $65,900 (previously $68,900) plus on-road costs, and the Model Y RWD at $70,900 (previously $73,900), well in contention for the $8625 Clean Car Discount rebate.
The Model 3 Performance and Model Y Performance get around a $5000 cut, priced from $95,900 and $100,900 respectively.
A Reddit post suggests Model 3 RWD prices are now from $59,362 after the rebate, Model Y RWD prices now from $64,362 after the rebate with the Model 3 RWD now $3500 more than the BYD Atto 3 extended range model.
Tesla introduced price cuts on the Model 3 and Model Y in January and February, the latest round of reductions putting prices back near early 2022 costs.
The EV brand expects to announce its Q1 2023 financial results on April 19 (April 20, 9.30am NZ time) after setting a new delivery record of 422,815 vehicles for the same quarter, while the Model Y was the top selling EV and third highest overall seller in March.
