MG Cyberster EV roadster ready for China
The MG Cyberster electric roadster with a convertible soft top and up to 405.6kW of power (all-wheel drive variant) has been revealed by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) ahead of its launch at the 2023 Auto Shanghai show, April 18-27.
It’s expected on the market soon, says CarNewsChina, adding the Cyberster is a tribute to MG roadsters of the 1960s and 1970s.
The two-seater is heavy, weighing 1850-1985kg, depending on the version (rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive).
The Cyberster will have an NMC battery made by United Auto Battery System (UABS) – the joint venture between SAIC and CATL, according to CarNewsChina, which provides further details apart from range, battery capacity, and price.
Another Chinese roadster, BYD’s YangWang U9, was unveiled early this year, Stuff reports.
It’s uncertain whether both roadsters will become available here.
