Electrified BMW and Mini models in high demand
Registrations of electrified BMW and Mini models increased 14.5% in Q1 this year, with Mini Electric Hatch registrations up 41% (62 registrations), says BMW Group New Zealand.
The combined total of BMW and Mini battery electric vehicle (BEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model registrations for Q1 this year was 213 units, it adds.

Forty-three sporty BMW i4 Gran Coupé BEVs have found new homes here this year, while there have been 11 registrations of the first-ever BMW iX1 BEV, which offers 440km range (WLTP).
BMW New Zealand has recently added a flagship to its BEV portfolio with the i7 fully electric BMW 7 Series which has up to 625km range (WLTP).
The local results follow the BMW Group announcing impressive growth in global sales of fully electric models.
The company recorded an 83.2% increase in sales of fully electric BMW and Minis (64,647 units), while BMW more than doubled its sales of BEV models with 55,979 units delivered to customers (up 112.3%).
The Mini brand will offer a fully electric product line-up by 2030.
BMW aims to be carbon neutral by 2050.
