Tesla has officially revealed and opened the order books on the facelift Model 3 – raising prices in the process.

New Zealand customers can place orders for the revamped Model 3 in both the base Rear-Wheel Drive and the Long Range versions. Performance statistics for the RWD’s 0 to 100 km/h sprint time remain at 6.1 seconds, while the Long Range edition maintains its 4.4-second timing.

The latest Model 3 showcases a more refined front-end design, featuring an uncomplicated lower section than its earlier iteration. Underneath its exterior, the vehicle includes a retuned suspension system comprising new springs, dampers, and mounting points for an improved riding experience.

Moreover, the revamped Model 3 incorporates modified Michelin tires, promising increased comfort and better sound insulation.

The interior also sees some tweaks, albeit retaining a 15-inch screen operated by the same processor as before. Notably, the steering wheel has been updated, eliminating traditional column stalks in favor of capacitive touch controls.

Additional enhancements include an ambient light strip positioned at the base of the windshield, along with the ability to disable passenger air vents. Back-seat riders will also enjoy an 8-inch screen to manage media and climate settings, complemented by air vents and USB-C ports.

Tesla has expanded its color options to include Stealth Grey at an additional $2300 and Ultra Red for an extra $2600. The standard wheel size remains at 18 inches, though a 19-inch upgrade is available for both variants at an additional cost of $1800.

Interior choices still come in white and black, and optional features like Enhanced Autopilot and Full Self-Driving (which remains not fully autonomous) continue to be available for purchase.

With its higher price point and updated features, the 2024 Model 3 is sure to attract both returning and new Tesla enthusiasts.
