Jeep is taking a history lesson in crafting its electrified future.

The 1963 Jeep Wagoneer, which Jeep says was the industry’s first modern SUV, featured a luxurious interior, upscale materials and premium appointments.

Jeep is applying that concept with modern touches to its first global battery electric vehicle (BEV) SUV, providing a first look at its interior.

Built on the new, highly flexible, BEV STLA-Large platform, the Jeep Wagoneer S has a tech-focused interior, the brand says.

It features premium technology integrated with meticulously crafted artisan details.

“Mindful materials and design-focused features include a tailored driver control centre with a unique Jeep brand-exclusive Selec-Terrain toggle and dynamic, colour-selectable ambient lighting,” says Jeep.

“The Jeep Wagoneer S will also feature a standard dual-pane panoramic sunroof” and will offer a 19-speaker premium flagship McIntosh audio system.

The Jeep Wagoneer S is included in ‘The EV Guys’ podcast.

Sources say the Wagoneer S EV is not destined for New Zealand or Australia at this stage as it’s bound for the US market first later this year but it could arrive Down Under in September 2025.
