Tesla cuts prices – again
Tesla has slashed prices globally, seen as a bid to boost sales.
The EV brand has cut prices on its Model 3 and Model Y range in New Zealand by up to about $3000, now around $63,900 and $65,900 respectively for entry-level ones.
That’s just before Tesla announces its first quarter 2024 earnings, predicted to be down.
The price cuts come amid a demand drop and intensifying EV competition – especially from China, Reuters says.
Tesla is still expected to reveal its robotaxi on August 8, end its global referral programme on April 30, and take other actions.
