Carbn thanks NZGIF for its support

New Zealand sustainable technology, fleet financing and advisory business Carbn thanks New Zealand Green Investment Finance (NZGIF) for its support following Climate Change Minister Simon Watts saying NZGIF will focus on managing down its investment portfolio.

Carbn was founded in July 2020 and works to reduce fleet emission through technology, advisory services and finance solutions, with NZGIF having an important role in Carbn’s success, says chief executive Shaun Drylie, thanking it for helping to bring Carbn’s sustainable shared mobility model to life.

“From the beginning, we recognized NZGIF as a transitional funder that has played a crucial role in helping Carbn evolve from a new venture into a thriving sustainability business,” says Drylie, adding Carbn bought carshare Zilch from Kirsten Corson and David Jenkinson in December 2023.

“We are incredibly grateful for this support and for recognising Carbn’s pioneering efforts in accelerating the decarbonisation of the passenger fleet, which contributes to approximately 10% of New Zealand’s emissions.”

Drylie says Carbn is dedicated to assisting both large and small organisations in transitioning to lower-emission vehicles and optimising their fleet sizes through its car-sharing technology, Zilch business and differentiated business model.

Carbn’s clientele includes banks, universities, city councils, private businesses, and large infrastructure companies, as well as their employees who benefit from the flexibility of accessing vehicles for personal or business needs.

Drylie says the organisation looks forward to collaborating with the NZGIF team as they navigate their transition.
