Hyundai Australia launches flagship Ioniq 9 in one high-spec grade

Hyundai has officially launched the Ioniq 9, its new flagship three-row, all-electric SUV, into the Australian market. 

It will be available in a single, well-equipped Calligraphy grade priced from A$119,750. 

The Ioniq 9 is powered by a 110.3 kWh high energy-density battery and features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering 314kW. It boasts a WLTP estimated range of 600km and supports fast-charging, capable of replenishing the battery from 10 to 80% in approximately 24 minutes. 

The cabin features integrated 12.3-inch instrument cluster and infotainment displays and is available in 6- or 7-seater configurations. Standard interior amenities include Nappa leather upholstery, premium relaxation front seats, and a power panorama sunroof. 

The six-seater variants also introduce a sliding Universal Island 2.0 Centre Console and second-row relaxation seats. The vehicle offers generous interior dimensions, with notable head, shoulder, and legroom across all three rows, and a cargo capacity of 338L behind the third row, expanding to 908L behind the second row. 

Technology and convenience features include Bluelink Connected Car Services and Over The Air (OTA) software update capability. The Ioniq 9 also marks the Australian debut of Digital Key 2.0 and Google Places Search functionality. 

The Digital Key 2.0 allows users to lock, unlock, and start the vehicle via a smartphone, utilizing both NFC and UWB technologies for proximity control. 

Safety is addressed with 10 airbags, including a front centre side airbag, and a comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. This suite includes features such as Forward Collision-avoidance Assist 2 (FCA 2) , Lane Following Assist 2 (LFA 2) , Smart Cruise Control 2 (SCC 2) , Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance-Assist (BCA) , and Surround View Monitor (SVM), among others.

The exterior design of the Ioniq 9 incorporates what Hyundai terms an ‘Aerosthetic’ approach, aiming for an aerodynamic and appealing style. Key design elements include Parametric Pixel design headlights and taillights, a boat-tail rear design, and 21-inch Calligraphy machined alloy wheels. 

The vehicle is available in 10 exterior colours, including three matte finishes. Optional features include a 6-seat configuration and Digital Side Mirrors.
