Zeekr 7X Achieves 5-Star Euro NCAP safety rating

The Zeekr 7X, an all-electric midsize SUV, has received the top 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating. 

This follows similar 5-star ratings for the Zeekr 001 shooting brake and Zeekr X compact SUV in 2024, making all Zeekr models offered in Europe 5-star Euro NCAP rated. The Zeekr X also received the “Best in Class Award” for Small SUV and Pure Electric Vehicles.

In the assessment, the Zeekr 7X achieved a 91% score for Adult Occupant Protection and 90% for Child Occupant Protection. Its comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems contributed to an 83% score for Safety Assist.

The Zeekr 7X, like the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr X, is built on the SEA modular vehicle architecture. This architecture utilizes a mix of materials, including ultra-high strength steel, to enhance occupant protection. A safety innovation unique to the Zeekr 7X is its rear underbody, made from one large aluminum casting rather than multiple pressed parts, which further improves body stiffness and safety.

The vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive set of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including:

• Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection 

• Adaptive Cruise Control 

• Automated Lane Change Assist 

• 3D Digital Surround View Monitoring 

• Front- and Rear Cross Traffic Alert 

• Augmented Reality Head-up Display 

• Driver Monitoring 

• Child Presence Detection 

Additionally, if the Zeekr 7X is involved in a collision, the braking system automatically brakes the vehicle to help prevent a secondary impact.

A unique safety feature of the Zeekr 7X is an automatic window breaker. Designed to facilitate egress if the vehicle becomes submerged in deep water, this feature is triggered by pulling a toggle located under the driver’s armrest. It uses a mechanical actuator to shatter the glass and does not rely on electrical power.

Giovanni Lanfranchi, CEO of Zeekr Technology Europe, stated that this latest success in Euro NCAP testing means their full model line-up in Europe offers a Five-star rating, reflecting their absolute focus on safety throughout the product development process.

The Zeekr 7X offers powertrain options including single-motor, rear-wheel drive or dual-motor, all-wheel drive, a maximum range of up to 615 km (WLTP), and, thanks to its 800V technology, charging from 10-80% in as little as 13 minutes.
