Audi Q6 and SQ6 e-trons at Sydney EV show
Australians will get a first look at the Audi Q6 and SQ6 e-trons at the Sydney International EV AutoShow, November 8-10.
They will feature in Audi’s battery electric vehicle (BEV) display.
About 100 EVs are included in the show presented by Future Drive AutoShows at the Sydney International Convention and Exhibition Centre with a record visitor attendance of more than 35,000 expected.
Brands include Kia, Toyota, Ford, Zeekr, XPeng, MG, BYD, Tesla, Smart, Chery, Deepal, Peugeot, Cupra, Hankook, Segway-Ninebot, BP Pulse, and AGL
A survey of visitors attending the Sydney event confirms 46% of registered visitors are aged 36 to 45, followed by 56 to 60 and then 31 to 35 years.
They are either EV owners (21%) first-time buyers (65%) or undecided (14%).
The survey also indicates 42% of visitors are looking to purchase an EV in the next six months, 22% in the next year and 18% in the next two years.
Reasons for attending include test drives (20 brands confirmed so far), charging solutions, finance options, reviewing ownership versus subscription and attending Future Drive Auto Sessions.
“The EV AutoShow features exclusive test drives, daily industry sessions, and insights into charging and finance options,” says Future Drive AutoShows chief executive Ray Evans.
“We believe the event will help buyers ease into the electrified future.”
EVs at the show will include the Rolls-Royce Spectre, the MG Cyberster, Tesla Roadster S, the Mercedes Wolf, the Sidewinder Australian-made racing car, the XPeng X2 flying car, the Kia EV5 and the Ford Ranger PHEV, the Zeekr 00-7 and 001.
Deepal is expected to provide details (including pricing) for its S07 family SUV-sized EV.
With the NSW Government investing almost half a billion dollars to incentivise EV uptake, Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen will present a keynote on Saturday November 9 while the Electric Viking Sam Evans will host the auto show over three days with displays, demonstrations and live panel discussions.
ANCAP Safety will be exhibiting at the Sydney event, aiming to dispel common misconceptions about EV safety and encourage consumers and fleet buyers to prioritise safety when considering their next EV purchase.
EVs are becoming more accessible to Australians as more brands launch into the marketplace, with many of these brands available to be viewed and test-driven at the auto show.
