Audi S6 e-tron Avant

Audi New Zealand says its first electric station wagon – the Audi S6 e-tron Avant – will be displayed and available to test at Audi authorised dealerships from May 23 to August 3 this year.

A pre-production left-hand drive model will be available for customers to view and test drive for a limited time across each Audi dealership nationwide, it says, the roadshow starting in Auckland at Giltrap Audi North Shore May 23-26.

The Audi S6 e-tron Avant will then be at Giltrap Audi in Grey Lynn from May 28 to June 3, Continental Cars Audi in Newmarket from June 5-10, Ebbett Hamilton June13-17, Farmer Audi in Tauranga from June 20-24, Bayswater in Napier from June 27-30, Robertson Prestige in Palmerston North July 4-6, Armstrong’s Audi in Wellington July 9-13, Archibald’s Audi in Christchurch July 17-21, and Southern Motor Group in Dunedin July 24-28, before arriving in Queenstown.

The base model S line with 270 kW and rear wheel drive offers up to 650km (WLTP) range, while the S line quattro has 315kW output with all-wheel drive and more than 623km range.

Pricing is to be confirmed but Audi expects the range to start at $144,990 excluding on-road costs, and it says New Zealand specification also has to be confirmed.

The Audi S6 e-tron Avant provides a system output of 370kW (405kW with launch control) and can accelerate from zero to100km/h in 3.9 seconds, says Audi New Zealand, adding this S model also offers a more premium, sporty interior and exterior styling.

“All models will reflect the all-new interior design and technology as seen in the Q6 e-tron – including the front passenger display screen.

”Thanks to the 800-volt technology and a maximum DC charging output of 225kW as standard, quicker charging is available across the range. At a high-power charging (HPC) station, up to 245km can be recharged in just 10 minutes. The state of charge (SoC) increases from 10% to 80% in 21 minutes.”

Audi New Zealand general manager Greg Leet says he is excited to see New Zealand’s response to this reimaged icon.

“The A6 e-tron is the first purely electric Audi available as an Avant, which is the shape of some of our most iconic vehicles,” he says.

“The S model will bring another level of performance and prestige which we know our customers expect from the brand.”

Built on Audi’s new Premium Platform Electric (PPE), the upper mid-size vehicle carries through familiar strengths in performance, range, and charging as seen in the Audi Q6 e-tron that launched at the end of 2024, says Audi New Zealand.
