BYD launches dedicated repair network website
BYD New Zealand has launched a dedicated website to help customers locate approved repairers across the country, emphasising the importance of specialised service for the brand’s advanced electric vehicle technology.
The new bydrepair.co.nz website connects BYD owners with more than 30 approved repairers nationwide, covering major centres including Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Hamilton, Tauranga and regional locations from Kaitaia to Dunedin.
“At BYD New Zealand, we think it’s important that you have access to quick professional repairs right across the country,” says BYD NZ general manager Warren Willmot.
“Only BYD repairers are fully trained and certified and audited by BYD New Zealand and BYD headquarters to ensure that your car is repaired back to factory standards.”
Warranty protection critical
Willmot emphasises that using approved repairers is essential for maintaining warranty coverage, particularly given the advanced technology in BYD vehicles.
“By choosing a BYD repairer, you are ensuring that your BYD factory warranty remains 100% intact,” he says. “While it’s under warranty, only BYD genuine factory parts will be fit into your car, and these are only available through your BYD repairer.”
The website warns that repairs completed outside the approved network may not follow correct procedures or restore safety systems to factory specifications, potentially affecting vehicle performance and increasing risk in subsequent collisions.
Specialised training requirements
BYD vehicles require specialised repair approaches due to their advanced materials, structural systems and electric vehicle technology including Blade Battery systems.
“These aren’t just simple cars to fix,” Willmot says. “That’s why all of our BYD repairers undergo rigorous training, both locally here in New Zealand and also at BYD headquarters in Shenzhen.”
Approved repairers are equipped with factory-specific technical tools and work to manufacturer specifications, with training covering everything from controlled bake temperatures to repair methods around battery systems. The website notes that even small variations in repair procedures can impact vehicle safety, performance and long-term reliability.
BYD owners can locate their nearest approved repairer through the website or by scanning a QR code found in their vehicle’s glove box documentation. The approved repairer network includes established collision repair businesses such as Holgate Panelbeaters in Auckland, Blair Wright Group in Wellington, Rosiez Collision Repairs in Christchurch, and regional operators across both islands.
“We are committed to keeping you on the road and ensuring that your asset retains its highest possible retail value and is repaired back to factory conditions,” Willmot says.
