BYD Sealion 05 super hybrid likely before Sealion 07 EV

BYD could bring its Sealion 05 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) to New Zealand ahead of the fully electric Sealion 07 SUV which is expected in Australia early next year.

“Under the current market conditions I’m pushing more to bring in Sealion 05 (Super Hybrid) ahead of the Sealion 07,” says BYD New Zealand brand manager Warren Willmot, adding he’s not committing to any timelines at this stage.

The Sealion 05 could join the Sealion 06 PHEV already here.

The BYD Shark 6 PHEV will also be sold in New Zealand before the Sealion 07, Stuff reports.

BYD proposes to launch about 15 models here within the next three years.
